Buildings and Grounds Committee

The Buildings and Grounds Committee is made up of interested parents and staff. At monthly meetings, discussion centres on the immediate and future plans to improve the school’s grounds and buildings.

The school community, involving parents, teachers and students, is responsible for the maintenance and development of the school grounds and buildings incorporating:

  • Playgrounds
  • Playground equipment
  • Drainage system
  • Spouting system
  • Garden beds & grassed areas
  • Slope area and oval
  • Block of land at the rear of the school
  • School signs and boundary fences

A yearly budget is allocated with which to carry out the maintenance and development of these areas. The Government provides no money for gardening and only a small amount for maintenance and urgent works. Funding for this area is incorporated in the school levies.

The main work carried out around the school is via working bees. They are held on either a Saturday or Sunday. A BBQ lunch is provided for the families attending and this is a great social get together for all those involved.

It is the job of the whole school community to ensure that the school is a safe and enjoyable place for our children. We hope that you will support us in fulfilling this very important responsibility.
