DISPLAN and Care of Children on Potential Fire Danger Days
The school has developed a DISPLAN, a program which sets out the actions to be taken in case of fire or other emergencies. Copies of the DISPLAN will be made available upon request. In the event of the students and staff needing to be evacuated, our assembly area is the Upwey High School Fire Refuge. If requested, students will only be released from the Fire Refuge into the care of their own parents or guardians. Given that the fire refuge is a safe place for all members of the Upwey community, we urge all parents not to remove their children until the authorities have indicated that it is safe to do so. All parents are encouraged to send their children to school on Total Fire Ban Days.
