The following outline items of an administrative nature.
Absences
When your child is absent from school a note is
required on his or her return stating reason for absence. If your child is to be
absent from school we would appreciate receiving a phone call prior to 8.45 am.
It shouldn’t happen, but, if your child returns home during the day without the
school’s knowledge, please either bring him/her back at once or telephone
immediately.
Custody Arrangements & Court Orders
For obvious
reasons it is essential that current details of any custody orders are available
and on file at the General Office. Any information that is provided will be
treated in the strictest confidence and released only on a “need to know” basis.
Please advise the office immediately of any changes to custody orders or other
exceptional family circumstances.
Education Maintenance Allowance
The Education Maintenance
Allowance is a special grant which is paid by the government to families who
meet specific criteria (eg. pensioner status or possession of a HealthCare
card). The Allowance is paid twice per year and many families choose to use it
to pay school fees and levies which can be deferred in anticipation of its
receipt. Application details are published in the Newsletter and the start and
mid-point of each year. Please watch for this advice.
Homework
The school has a Homework Policy which is
consistent with the directions provided by the Victorian Department of
Education, Employment and Training. Children at all grade levels will be
expected to undertake homework on a regular basis. Details of homework
arrangements and expectations will be communicated to parents by class teachers
at the beginning of each year.
Visitors Book & Passes
If making a protracted visit
to the school (i.e. longer than the time taken to deliver an item to a
classroom, deliver a message or collect a child), all adult visitors to the
school are asked to sign the Visitors Book which is located at the General
Office and to wear a “Visitor Badge” whilst in the school grounds. Your
co-operation will assist us in ensuring that the school is a secure place for
all of our students.
