The Sanctuary holds a special place in the hearts of all those who have been to Upwey Primary School. Tucked behind our oval, on the far end of our school, is a place where you can spend time in the natural beauty of the Dandenongs. Many people over the years have spent time caring for this special place. Whether its been weeding, repairing paths, planting new trees or cleaning up rubbish, the whole community has helped to keep the sanctuary sacred. Our goal has always been to create a place that is indigenous to the local area, for its flora, fauna, wildlife and people.
We would like to thank the Yarra Ranges council, Upwey Cub/Scouts and the school community for helping to maintain and care for this treasure in the heart of our school.
