Inter-School Sport and House Competition

Children in the senior grades (Years 3, 4, 5 & 6) play winter and summer inter-school sport with neighbouring primary schools during the second and fourth terms. The competition will normally take the form of a Round Robin Event. The students have the opportunity to participate in and enjoy sports such as football, netball, basketball, volleyball, cricket, softball, hockey, rounders, soccer and tee-ball.

All children from Years 5 & 6, and selected representatives from Years 3 & 4 participate in the interschool athletics, swimming, cross country and basketball competitions. Successful children can progress to compete at a regional and state level in all interschool sporting activities.

A house competition operates throughout the year at Upwey Primary School and involves students in all year levels. A Weekly Competition occurs in all classrooms and specialist areas with points tallied and presented at assembly. The winner of the Weekly Competition will be invited to complete their chant at School Assembly. Each house has captains and vice-captains that are voted in at the beginning of each year.

The four Houses are:

 Corella

 Lowan

 Bogong
